The Albany Carroll Arts Building is at the heart for one of Chicago's fastest growing art districts. The complex of two interconnected warehouse buildings has been a center of artistic activity since 1985 and it currently provides workspace for over 70 artist working in different media. The buildings are home to a variety of artistic creativity that include the works of painters, sculptors, photographers, stained glass artisans, specialty design, and woodworkers. The management promotes the mix of career and emerging art professionals as a unique and longstanding community based Chicago resource. The cooperative has held an annual Open Studio Event for the last sixteen years where for two days the general public is invited to observe the art and techniques of the artists in their own studio environs.
